This Privacy Policy explains how Verdict ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Verdict website and services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

• Account information — your username, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
• Preferences and content — settings such as your position-size limits, your watchlists, and the questions and messages you send to the AI.
• Optional API keys — if you choose to bring your own AI provider key, we store it encrypted.
• Communications — messages you send us for support.

Information from connected accounts

• Brokerage data — if you connect a brokerage account through our aggregator (SnapTrade), we receive account and position data (such as holdings, balances, and transactions) to display and analyze your portfolio. We do not receive or store your brokerage login credentials.

Information collected automatically

• Usage and device data — basic technical information such as log data, approximate location derived from IP, and usage of features, used to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use your information

• To provide, maintain, and improve the Service and generate the analysis you request;
• To authenticate you and keep your account secure;
• To sync and display your connected brokerage positions;
• To respond to your support requests;
• To monitor usage, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

3. How your information is shared

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share information only with service providers that help us operate the Service, and only as needed to provide it:

• AI processing — your prompts and the relevant context are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to generate analysis.
• Brokerage connectivity — SnapTrade, to securely link your brokerage account and retrieve position data you authorize.
• Market data — third-party market-data providers, to fetch quotes, option chains, and related data.
• Hosting and infrastructure — providers that host the Service and its data.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public. If the Service is involved in a merger or acquisition, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

4. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption of sensitive fields (such as any stored API key), hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use a strong, unique password and never share credentials or full account numbers by email.

5. Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated data as described below.

6. Your choices and rights

• Access and correction — you can view and update much of your information in your account settings.
• Disconnect a broker — you can disconnect a linked brokerage account at any time in settings.
• Deletion — you can request deletion of your account and personal data by emailing us.
• Regional rights — depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as access, portability, or deletion) under laws like the CCPA/CPRA or GDPR. Contact us to exercise them.

7. Children's privacy

The Service is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
